6ValentinesDayBudget2021

Has January felt extremely long to anyone else? As we get closer to the end of the month, you may be finding Valentine’s Day beginning to creep up on your radar. With it looking like travel and going out to restaurants is at a minimum to none, you may still be wanting to plan something special for your significant other that won’t break the bank either. Here is a list of 6 budget-friendly date ideas that you can do in the comfort of your own home!

1. Make Breakfast for Dinner

Who doesn’t love breakfast? In our house, breakfast food is good any time of the day! You probably already have the ingredients you need to whip up some scrambled eggs with cheese, pancakes, toast, sausage and bacon. If you’re feeling fancy, you could even try making the pancakes in heart-shapes! It’s nice to cook with your partner, and would be a fun activity to bond over.

2. The Adventure Challenge

The Adventure Challenge is a scrapbook containing 50 unique date ideas. You start off by choosing the one with a title that seems the most fun, i.e outdoors, cooking, adventure, etc., and scratch off the box to reveal what the date is. Then, you can journal and insert a picture of your experience! My husband and I got this as a Christmas gift, and it definitely makes for some out of the box date nights! This is probably the most expensive of the budget-friendly suggestions but is going to last for many date nights and build memories along the way.

3. Table Ping-Pong

If you and your partner don’t mind engaging in some healthy competition once in a while, this is a super fun game to have around. It is convenient because you can set it up on your kitchen table, and easily pack it up and put it away when you’re done.

4. Make a Vision Board

This is a great opportunity for you both to talk about goals you want to accomplish in life, whether that be places you want to travel to, career goals, have a family or financial goals. Grab a big piece of poster board and start cutting out pictures from old magazines or print off photos from Pinterest. There’s nothing quite like getting your dreams on paper and having the visual reminder hanging up every day.

5. Paint a Room

Is there that ONE room in the house or apartment that you’ve been dying to slap a coat of paint on? Well now is your chance! Grab a gallon of paint, blast some music and paint away while having a dance party. Bonus points if you don’t get any paint on your clothes!

6. Look Through Old Photos

Sit back and scroll through your photos (NOT social media) over the past several years to remember some of the fun things you’ve done together. Life moves fast and it’s easy to forget some special moments. If you’re really feeling nostalgic, pull out your high school yearbooks or grab some childhood photo albums from your mom’s house.

I hope you find some of these ideas fun and give at least one a try! Please drop a comment with your experience, because I would love to hear if any of these ideas spiced up your Valentine’s Day in 2021!
